micare Soap Flakes – Traditional Danish Quality
Contains: 1000 ml total (500 ml in the tub + 500 ml in the refill pouch) and a dosing scoop
Soap flakes are ideal for both cleaning and treating wooden and tiled floors. Used for generations in Denmark, this traditional method is renowned for preserving the natural beauty of wood. Soap flakes clean gently yet effectively, leaving wooden floors well-maintained and beautifully nourished. They are also perfect for soap treatment of lye-treated floors and wooden furniture, adding a protective, attractive patina.
Suitable for a variety of surfaces, including untreated and lacquered wood, tile, stone, terrazzo, and linoleum, these soap flakes are a versatile and natural cleaning choice.
Our soap flakes are proudly manufactured in Denmark following an authentic Danish recipe. We take pride in their fine white quality, perfect flake size, and an ideal fat content of 80%, ensuring the best possible results. Made from palm oil and coconut oil, they contain no perfume, preservatives, or optical brighteners.
Quality tip: When dissolved in boiled (then cooled) water, good-quality soap flakes will leave the water clear or slightly milky. If the water turns gray, the flakes are of poor quality and may cause wood surfaces to gray over time.

- Wash the floor thoroughly in the direction of the wood grain using the lukewarm soapy water.
- Finish by rinsing with a hard-wrung cloth and cold, clean water to remove excess soap residue and prevent dissolving the protective fat in the soap.
- Allow the floor to dry completely before walking on it.
How to Soap-Treat Natural Stone and Tiled Floors

- Optional: scrubbing brush for grout
Instructions:
- Dissolve 10 g of soap flakes per 1 L of hand-warm water (approx. ¼ cup).

- Soak the cloth in the soapy water and wash the floor, changing the water as needed.

Why Use Soap Flakes on Tiled Floors?
Soap flakes are gentle yet effective, containing no harsh chemicals that could damage surfaces or remove their natural shine. Made from natural fats, they are also more environmentally friendly than many commercial cleaners.
When dissolved and used for cleaning, the soap leaves a light protective film that helps prevent dirt and stains from adhering. Additionally, the mild residues help clean and condition grout, keeping it free from dirt and preventing it from drying out.
Important Tips
- Stone surfaces: Always whisk thoroughly to avoid soap residue.
- Safety: Soap flakes can make surfaces slippery—especially in bathrooms. Rinse off excess soap well.
- Wood treatment: Test on a small area before treating older wood. Avoid use on veneered surfaces, as the glue may dissolve.
- Brightening tip: Add a teaspoon of titanium white or a little pipe clay to your soapy water to brighten and maintain lye-treated wood floors.
