Care and maintenance of your poly rattan
Garden furniture made of poly rattan, also known as PE-rattan, is highly sought after for its elegant look. Poly rattan combines the natural aesthetic of rattan with low maintenance requirements. However, prolonged exposure to UV radiation, harsh chemicals, aggressive cleaning agents and tools, as well as severe frost, can affect the material's flexibility and durability. Excessive moisture can lead to mold or rot. micare cleaning soap gently cleans and, due to its high fat content, leaves an invisible protective layer. Using micare cleaning soap is all that’s needed to clean and care for poly rattan effectively and gently on the furniture, the environment, and your skin.
How we recommend you clean and maintain your polyrattan garden furniture:
Before you start, you should have the following ready:
micare cleaning soap, lukewarm water, a medium-hard scrubbing brush, a microfiber cloth, a cloth for wiping
- Remove dust and sand from the surface with a soft cloth or brush (alternatively, rinse the furniture with a garden hose).
- Moisten the furniture and apply micare cleaning soap to both the front and back of the piece.
- Massage the soap into the furniture in circular motions to ensure all dirt is loosened. Let the cleaning soap work for about 10 minutes to loosen algae and other debris.
- Scrub with a medium-hard brush.
- Rinse the brush or cloth in clean water as needed and continue cleaning until all dirt is gone.
- Finish by rinsing off the dirt and soap residue.
Now, enjoy your beautiful poly rattan furniture today and for many years to come.
