Clean and care for your footwear

All other shoe care products suddenly become unnecessary. Footwear made of leather, suede, faux leather, rubber, and plastic is gently and effectively cleaned with micare cleaning soap. You can extend the life of your shoes and boots by many years with regular maintenance and care. It’s a sustainable choice for the environment, as it reduces the need to buy new shoes. By following some simple care routines, you can ensure that your shoes and boots not only look stylish but also perform comfortably and optimally for many seasons.

Here’s how we recommend you clean and maintain your footwear:

Before you start, make sure you have the following items ready:

micare cleaning soap – lukewarm water – a medium-hard scrubbing brush – microfiber cloth.

  1. Start by dipping the dry sponge directly into the cleaning soap, and gently massage the sponge over the dirty areas of the shoe.

  2. Rinse the sponge as needed, wring out the water, and then dip it again in the soap.

  3. Apply the soap to the entire shoe, including the outer side of the sole.

  4. Rubber soles can withstand the scrubbing brush, an old toothbrush, or the rough side of a scrubbing sponge.

  5. The soles can be rinsed clean with a little water on the sponge. If it's leather, however, do not rinse with water. Wipe off excess soap and dirt with a microfiber cloth.

Note: If the laces are dirty, they can be removed and washed with micare cleaning soap. If that doesn’t solve the problem, new laces cost about 25 DKK. When buying new laces, you just need to know the number of holes on one side (in this case, 7) or measure the full length:

  • For 3 lace holes, your laces should be 70 cm.
  • For 4 holes – 90 cm.
  • For 5 holes – 110 cm.
  • For 6-7 holes – 130 cm.
